Dear Morning Glory Cycling Club,
WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I could have not have been MORE blown away by the turn out on Monday night. THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!! I wish we could have had more time so I could have chatted with all of you. However, since this is just the beginning, I am certain that the opportunity will present itself. Just like Fraser said, you can ask me anything about cycling, - anything at anytime - because every one was/is a beginner at one point in time just like I was years ago. The lessons I learn will be shared with you whether you are new on a bike or are in the front group as we motor around the Bridle Path loop. The money that was raised will give me a real opportunity to put my head down and train like I have never trained before. Everything from the necessary equipment to race fees and travel are now a real possibility for me. Before Monday night, this was not the case. This could have not been a better success. Thank you to the family and community of Gears, Morning Glory, and especially the Cup Cake girls!!!!! Over the past Two days I have been in Hamilton motor pacing with my coach. Motor pacing is when you have a motor vehicle, most of the time it’s a scooter, setting a pace with the cyclist drafting behind. Usually if I had more time I would have motor paced twice a week for the past month with the average speed being 5 kph faster then I could hold during the time trial. But because the time has been so tight, the speed at which I did the motor pacing was at my goal speed 49-50kph for 40km. Please see the following link to my Garmin Data. http://connect.garmin.com/activity/107350006#.TkwyPVuM2Fg.email Now its time to rest up before Sunday's big race. My goal is to avg 50 KPH and to win the Provincial Time Trial. The race info and split times can be found here: www.ridewithrendall.com/events/opttc/ THANK YOU MGCC!!!!!!!!
