Riding with MGCC

You must be an MGCC member or member of another OCA affiliated Club in order to ride. If you haven't yet joined, click on our Membership page to sign up

RIDES
  1. The group rides 7 days a week as long as the roads are (moderately) dry and weather otherwise permits.
  2. All MGCC rides have front and back Marshals. These volunteer Marshals help the group navigate through the city in a tight and contained pace line.
  3. Our MGCC Marshals will announce rides via email so ensure you are signed up and receiving these successfully.
  4. New members should review the routes in advance (in case they drop off the back of the group) and review the ride categorization below (to ensure that they have the fitness and ability to participate in the ride).

RIDE DIFFICULTY
Routes are categorized by difficulty to help new members to determine which ride is the best fit for them. Please take a quiet and humble moment to assess your level – as it will affect not only your enjoyment of the ride, but others’ as well. Keep in mind that May conditioning won’t be as strong as September, so start easy and build.

A: These rides target Advanced riders that are able to ride +100K at a pace of +33km/h.
B: These rides target Intermediate to Advanced riders that are able to ride 50K-100K at a pace of 30-32km/h.
C: These rides target Intermediate riders that are able to ride 50K-100K at a pace of 27-29km/h.
D: These rides target Novice to Intermediate riders that are able to ride 50K-70K at a pace of 24-26km/h.
E: These rides target Novice riders that are able to ride 50k at a pace of 20-23km/h.
