4th Annual MGCC Athlete Bursary Submissions!!!
MGCC Members, U23 Athletes, and the OCA at large,
It is with esteemed pleasure that the Morning Glory Cycling Club (MGCC) announces it is now accepting applications for the 4th Annual MGCC Athlete Bursary!
In 2015, with the generous support of The Humberview Group, MGCC selected fifteen incredible cyclists, across various disciplines, and invested an amazing $15,000 ($1,000 per athlete) to help them pursue their cycling dreams.
Our commitment to supporting young cyclists within our community continues, and we invite all interested U23 athletes (road, triathlon, track, cycle cross, mountain) who call Ontario home to apply.
The deadline for accepting applications is December 31, 2015. Successful candidates will be notified by January 31, 2016.
The Kids Are Alright!
The bicycle is an incredible thing. Its many things to many people, but there is one thing we can all agree on, and thats the feeling of freedom that comes from the moment you push off. MGCC hosted its 5th Grass Track event this week to huge success. This go round the kids were treated to a very special guest. One of Canada's top cyclists, Hour Record holder, National Team member and MGCC member Ed Veal brought his gold Pan Am medal and his love of the bike to share with the crowd. As you browse through this gallery of images (CLICK HERE) shot by Chris Monette I think you'll all agree, these kids rock!
MGCC is going back to the Milton Velodrome!
MGCC opened its Fall 2015 season at the Milton Velodrome last week, and it was nice to see some familiar faces riding the track! Based on the smiles we saw, everyone was happy to be riding the boards again. We have some dedicated track cyclists among us, and it's great to see MGCC'ers enjoying the wonderful venue that is the Milton Velodrome. There is a lot of work being done behind the scenes to update the track cycling page . You will soon find new information, and most importantly, all the new dates and times for which you can register this fall.
In the mean time, to help you plan your next visit(s) to the Velodrome, here is a preview of the next few weeks
